Do you know the Champions League? This game places you in control of a soccer team attempting to win the world championship. You actually get to choose what team you want to play from 21 different options. The only real difference between the teams is the color of the uniforms. The graphics in the game are average. There is no music. The sound effects are minimal. The silence you face while playing takes away from the animations of cheering fans on the screen. You hear sounds only when the shot is finally made.

The gameplay in Champions League Game focuses exclusively on shooting a goal in front of the net of the opposing team. The game uses three different meters to determine the attributes of your shot. The meters cycle up and down or back and forth until you hit a key or click the mouse to stop them. The first meter determines the direction of the shot. The second meter allows you to arc the shot to the right or left as it is traveling. The final meter lets you pick the height of the shot. This means each shot requires three clicks. There is no time limit. This allows you to take as long as necessary to line up the shot.

You have several obstacles and options when trying to score a goal. The players in the opposing team are lined up in front of the net in a random pattern. You can exploit usually one or two openings in the lineup. A goalie is also in front of the net behind the team who will attempt to stop the ball. An advantage you have is that a fellow teammate is somewhere within the lineup. You have the option to try to shoot through the gaps in the opposing team or to pass the ball to your teammate.

The challenge in this soccer game is to beat all the other teams without missing a beat. You need to score more than the other teams during each round to keep progressing. If you lose just one set of games, then you need to start over from the beginning. An issue with Champions League Game is that the meters are a little unwieldy. You have to be very precise almost down to the pixel level. This sometimes leads to shots that go wildly wrong. Champions League Game is fun to play although it can get frustrating at times.
